About the Courses

In one full day, you’ll become familiar with all the tools and features of Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop and learn how to use them through easy to follow exercises. Once you’re more comfortable with the basics, we’ll build on those skills; creating industry standard flat sketches, CADs, print repeats, and presentation boards. We encourage you to bring specific projects you wish to work on, so we can focus on your individual needs. You’ll also learn some of the techniques we developed to complete projects more quickly and efficiently.

Included in the course, you’ll receive a detailed companion guide that leads you step by step through the Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop workspace, and shows you how to complete the lessons covered in class so you can practice them on your own as often as you like. Descriptions and instructions are easy to follow and the most commonly used features for fashion design are covered more thoroughly. Even after you’ve mastered the lessons and exercises, the workspace overview will serve as a handy reference that you can rely upon in class or on the job. And of course, we would never leave you hanging, so we offer complete follow up and support after your course. If you run into any problems or have questions as you continue practicing, we are here to help you!

“I’m so glad I signed up for both courses! I have been in the fashion industry for 14 years, and have taken several expensive training classes in these programs, but unfortunately did not learn much until I took this course. These programs had always confused me, but to my surprise, I quickly absorbed not only the fundamentals, but shortcuts and tricks that helped me work faster.”
Monica Saldana

NOTE: Since Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are often integrated within the fashion industry, taking both courses is highly recommended to maximize your creative abilities and potential. If you are new to these Adobe programs, we suggest starting with our Adobe Illustrator for Fashion course. If you already know Illustrator even at a very basic level, we suggest starting with Adobe Photoshop for Fashion, and vice versa. In other words, if you already know one program, we strongly suggest learning the other! Knowing how to properly integrate both programs can enhance your performance level and creativity, providing you with more design options.

Does it take you way too long to complete fashion flat sketches? Increase your speed and efficiency when creating design projects.University curriculums are not required to reflect the latest technological advancements of key software programs. We know that in an industry where everything is “due yesterday”, keeping up to speed is a must. Our techniques use the latest features introduced in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to speed up the design process.
“With the knowledge I gained from this course, I was able to get a better paying job designing CADs and presentation layouts. At my old job, I was stuck at my desk with a tape measure doing fits! Natalie and Kristin really helped me advance my career.”

What else is out there?

There are many training courses out there for Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. However, most are general and teach a bunch of tools and skills that you’ll never use in fashion. Only a few sources offer focused training for fashion design, but they still teach you basics, even over several expensive days. With our courses, you can save hundreds and learn all the skills you need in a single day.

  • A New York City design education service teaches a “crash course” with rushed teaching and outdated techniques, sending you home confused and frustrated.
  • Fashion school curriculums don’t meet the demands of what fashion designers need to know in the real world and companies don’t want to waste time with on-the-job training.
  • The total cost of three course levels offered at a leading NYC fashion school adds up to about $825 – just for Adobe Illustrator. Even worse, the materials covered are basic and nowhere near industry standard.
  • A NYC career training company offers a three hour course teaching Illustrator and Photoshop for fashion for $875. Three hours for two programs? How much can you really learn?

Most CAD design courses charge an arm and a leg, only cover basic tools and often teach outdated techniques, leaving you to play “catch up” while on the job – if you’re lucky enough to get hired.

Have you tried other CAD courses only to find yourself confused, lost, and forgetting everything you learned? With our intuitive approach to teaching, you’ll learn how the programs really work, so the materials covered will really stay with you.

“I can’t thank you enough for the valuable information I learned from this course. This kind of insight into the requirements of the fashion industry is priceless. I feel much more confident now in my CAD skills.”
